PACKAGED 12/24V CONDENSING UNITS DESIGNED FOR USE IN MARINE REFRIGERATION AND FREEZER SYSTEMS
For almost 50 years Frigibar® has manufactured 12/24V packaged condensing units, allowing consumers to put a refrigerator or freezer on their boat where none existed before with a simple, self-installation conversion kit. Our original conversion kit, called the LectricIceman® has provided customers with additional cold storage on vessels for decades.
Today is no exception. While the LectricIceman® has been retired, Frigibar® has developed new options for 12/24V refrigeration conversion kits called the POLAR CUB™ and POLAR CUB+™. These self-contained, easy-to-install units make it possible to turn existing ice boxes into additional refrigerator or freezer space.
The POLAR CUB™ and POLAR CUB+™ units are compact packaged condensing units designed for use in refrigeration systems such as cockpit, mezzanine, galley refrigerator/freezers, or fish boxes. The units are typically placed remotely in the engine room, lazarette, etc.
These systems offer convenient conversion options for refrigerating or freezing an existing insulated box on board any vessel that requires additional cold storage but does not have a generator.
POLAR CUB™ and POLAR CUB+™ enclosures are white powder-coated aluminum and can be mounted on a bulkhead or horizontal surface. The self-contained units allow for ease of installation with clear access to mounting holes.
Systems are available in Air-cooled or Air/Water-cooled units available with BD50* or BD80 compressors in 12/24V (*115V option available). Units come standard with resealable couplings and an optional directional vent to route warm air exhaust. Pre-charged with R134A refrigerant.
POLAR CUB™ and POLAR CUB+™ units are capable of refrigerating 14 to 21 cubic feet and freezing 5 to 7 cubic feet with proper application and an adequately sized evaporator plate (sold separately).
